Back to School

This week has flown by! On Monday, Christi and Matt came by on their way to Dallas. We had such a great time! We went out to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants from Weatherford which just opened a new location here, Pastafina (they have the best Chicken Cesar Salads)! Even though they did not have their 3 kids with them, I think that our boys kept them pretty entertained! It was nice catching up!

Monday was the first day back to school after Spring Break, and the boys had a little bit of a hard time getting back into the swing of things. Not that we did anything while they were out of school for the week, but I think it is that mental block of having to get back into school mode!

Speaking of school, Tuesday I turned in my Graduation Application! For those of you who don't know, I started back to school nearly 3 years ago to try and finish my degree. After 3 long years of going to school part-time, I can finally see the end in sight! December can't come soon enough!!!

Easter Egg Fun!

We had a fun filled Easter Weekend this year! We started Friday off with a sleep over for Ryan. On Saturday, Rosemary and Tristan came over; and then today we had a full house! Manuel's dad, his sister Leticia and her kids, and our friends Ann and Cruz and their kids came over. Manuel smoked a brisket and some sausages, and Rosemary made some beans and papas - Yummy! After we ate, the kids had an Easter Egg Hunt in our back yard! It was a busy, but fun day!

The kids were lined up waiting
at the door to begin the Easter egg hunt!

Let the hunt begin!!!

Taekwondo Belt Testing

The boys have been taking Taekwondo for about 4 months now, and tested last week for their yellow belts. They have both had fun learning their forms, one-steps, and self-defense. Manuel and I are enjoying it because their program incorporates home and school as well. They boys can also earn stars for their badges by helping around the house and for good grades in school! Gabriel is in the Tiny Tigers class, and Ryan is in the Jr. class. Both boys tested successfully and earned their yellow belts, and are anxious for the next test to try to move up to their camo belts!
