Lilly's 1st Bath

Lilly's first bath was an adventure (for both of us), which she absolutely hated!!! It has been a very long time since I have given a newborn a bath, so I felt a little out of practice, but we some how managed to get through it in one piece!

First week home with Lilly

We had quite a house full last weekend after bringing Lilly home! We came home from the hospital on Friday and then had a steady stream of friends and family over for the rest of the weekend. Everyone couldn't wait to meet Miss Lilly for the first time!

My grandparents drove up from Stamford to meet their great granddaughter! I am so thankful that they are her to meet her and love her as much as I do!

Manuel's mom, dad, sister and her kids all came up on Sunday. Rosemary is so excited that we finally got our girl! Here she is with the grandkids. The only one missing is Isabel, who we are looking forward to seeing again next month when they come down from California!

On Monday, all of the kids in Gabriel's class made cards for Lilly! They said "Welcome Miss Lilly" on the front, and "Congratulations Sanchez Family" on the inside. They are all very cute and sweet - thanks Mrs. Watkins!

My snoozing little girl!

Ryan is absolutely in love with his new little sister! Both he and Gabriel rush in the door each day after school wanting to know where Lilly is and how she is doing. They love to touch her hand and kiss her cheek! They are both incredibly sweet with her and have been such great help! Lilly is lucky to have 2 great big brothers like Ryan and Gabriel!!!

Lilly Grace Sanchez

We are so very excited to announce that Lilly Grace arrived Wednesday morning at 8:31 AM weighing in at 6 lbs. 15 oz, and 19 3/4 in. long.

Our labor and delivery was extremely fast! From the first contraction until her delivery was only 4 hours. We didn't expect everything to go so quickly and were trying to get the boys ready for school and dropped off before we went to the hospital. By the time we dropped the boys off at 7:30, we realized that we had waited a little too long to go to the hospital and barely made it... We got to the hospital at 8:19 AM and had Lilly 12 minutes later! There were about 10 nurses in the room trying to get me admitted and everything set up all at the same time. Luckily there was an OB on staff who had been there all night who was able to deliver the baby since there wasn't time for my doctor or any of the doctors from her practice to get up to the hospital! Dr. Kohlmorgan barely had time to get her gloves on before Lilly was born! I hadn't planned on delivering Lilly completely naturally with no drugs, but she had different plans! It all happened so fast that not only did I not have an epidural, but I didn't have time for an IV or anything else either. Manuel and I were both completely in shock at how fast everything happened, but it all worked out great and she is here and perfect!

38 1/2 Weeks - Nursery's Finally DONE!!!

We hit the 38 Week mark on Sunday and finally finished the nursery! We have been pretty close to being done with the room for a while now, but finally got the fan up this week and finished up the last of the small things we were lacking! I also started my maternity leave this week, so it is nice to be able to just relax before the baby gets here!

38 1/2 Weeks!

We all painted a picture for Lilly's room to add a personal touch! The boys had so much fun that they want to paint pictures for every room in the house!

The Mickey poster was something that my dad had made for me and Justin when we were little. It means a lot to be able to incorporate it into one of the kids rooms! I think he would have liked that!

April Belt Testing

The boys had another karate belt test. Gabriel had his red belt test and Ryan had his brown recommended belt test. Both had been working really hard to learn their forms (of course having the tournament the week before belt testing helped with this too)! They did a great job and we are happy to say they both passed!!!

Gabriel's belt test

Not only did Gabriel pass his red belt test, but Mr. Viggers promoted him to a camo belt junior! WOW! This means that he is no longer a Tiny Tiger, but in the big kids (or junior) class! He was so excited he could hardly stand it! There were 5 Tiny Tigers total who moved up either due to testing all the way through the Tiny Tigers ranks like Gabriel, or because they were 7!

Ryan's brown recommended test.
His teacher, Mrs. Deck, came to watch his test. He was really excited, but also a little embarrassed! It was really cute! =0)

Mr. Viggers finally got the plaque up for the Most Outstanding Student during a belt testing cycle, which Ryan won during the previous cycle. We had to post a picture of our star student!
