Ryan's New Glasses

We took Ryan in for an eye exam about a week and a half ago, and unfortunately for Ryan, he has his parents eyes... After forking over entirely too much money, Ryan now has his first pair of glasses. He is both excited and weary about having to wear them. I think a lot of his excitement stems from the newness of them, and will quickly wear off. A lot of his anxiety comes from what his friends will think. He will be the only one in his class who has glasses, so I think he is a little scared of how the other kids will react and what they will say. I think they look good, and am happy that my baby will be able to see well. Hopefully a lot of the headaches he was having will dissipate now that his eyes will not be straining so much. If you see him, be sure to tell him how great he looks in his new glasses! =0)

Memorial Weekend

We started off our Memorial Weekend by going to Justin and Hayley's house Saturday afternoon for a late lunch with Granny and Papa, who came down to see baby Harper for the first time. Harper is their first(and only) Great Grand Daughter! It had been a while since the boys had seen them, so they were really excited too! Hayley's mom and dad had come in for the weekend as well, which was a nice surprise.

After we left Weatherford, we went to Walmart to buy some groceries. As we were leaving, Gabriel gave us quite a scare .... He was hanging on the bar of the cart (I had only told him about 20 times to stop!), when he came crashing down and hit his nose on the bar. Blood was gushing out, and it started to swell up big time. We thought he had broken it. After a lot of tears and an ice pack, we finally got Gabe calmed down. It was a long night, but after a couple of days, the swelling finally started to go down some, but he still has a lovely bruise to show off!

They boys spent the rest of the weekend playing with the sprinkler and jumping on the trampoline. I spent the rest of the weekend studying... I take my EC-4 TExES content exam next Thursday, so I spent the weekend trying to go through part of one of the study guides I bought. Yuck! I have to keep reminding myself that the end is finally in sight. August can't get here soon enough!!!

Kindergarten Roundup

Gabriel is now officially registered for Kindergarten next fall!!! We went yesterday to Kindergarten Roundup at his school and filled out all of his paperwork. He was so excited he took off running to the building as soon as we parked! One of the little girls from his karate class was there registering too, so they were both excited that they would be going to school together next year. I can't believe that my baby will be going to school! The past 5 years have flown by. It still seems like only yesterday that I brought him home from the hospital, and now here he is fixing to start Kindergarten.... WOW!

Another Busy Week

This past week was a busy one for everyone. We started last week out with a fabulous Mother's Day!. The boys gave me their wonderful handmade gifts they made for me at school, and Manuel made me a yummy breakfast. After we all got ready, we went to the movies and saw The Spikerwick Chronicles at the dollar show. It was a great day!

Early Monday morning, Hayden Blair Smith decided to make his grand entrance! I haven't had a chance to see him yet, but I hear he is gorgeous, and that Blair and David are adjusting well to being first time parents!

Wednesday, Ryan and I went for an eye exam. As it turns out, Ryan has mine and Manuel's eyes, and now has to have glasses. We ordered him a really cool pair, so hopefully once they come in, he will be more willing to wear them. I will post some pictures of him in his new glasses as soon as they come in.

Saturday, the boys had their first baseball games of the season. Gabriel played first and did a good job. His coach was out of town, so Manuel got to step in and help out by pitching to the kids! Ryan played later in the afternoon and had an awesome game! He hit a triple in one inning and got 2 outs in another. He even got the game ball at the end - he was so excited!!!! We didn't have our camera with us this weekend, but will definitely have it with us next weekend so we can post some baseball pics. Here are the 2 pictures that one of the other baseball moms took at Ryan's game:

May Taekwondo Belt Test

Last week the boys tested for their next rank in their Taekwondo class. Gabriel moved up to a single green belt and Ryan moved up to his camo belt. They both did an awesome job! With their new ranks, they are now able to begin sparring (yikes)!

The boys had to pose with their new belts when we got home! They were both so excited about them that they ended up sleeping with their belts for 2 nights!!!

Gabriel is ready to rumble!

Welcome Baby Harper!

Harper Rebecca Six was born Thursday, 5/8/08 at 5:56 PM. She weighed 7 lbs. 13 oz., and was 19.5 inches long. Hayley did amazing and delivered a beautiful, healthy girl!!!

I have been anxiously awaiting to publish this post, but wanted to wait until Hayley had a chance to make the wonderful announcement first! Here are a few pictures from Thursday evening in the hospital.

Final Countdown!!!

Sunday I went with Hayley & Justin and Blair & David to take some of their last pregnancy pictures. I think that Hayley and Blair both look AMAZING (and I love their bellies)!!! It is still hard to believe that my baby brother going to be a dad- WOW! The count down is on, and I can't wait until Sixlet and Smithlet are here!

Justin and David didn't much care for the pictures of them kissing Hayley and Blair's bellies, but I think that they are great! Very sweet - thanks guys for being such a great sport!
