Region 6 Impact ATA Tournament

The boys attended their first ATA tournament in Dallas a couple of weeks ago. There were students from all over the state (as well as some surrounding states) who attended, including 22 students from their school. The boys did a great job and were extremely excited to walk away with medals!

Gabe was the first to compete with the Tiny Tiger age group. He had his new camo tournament belt that Mr. Viggers gave him to compete with, and was put in the same group as his friend Joseph, which made him pretty happy! They all did their forms first and then sparred. Gabe had been working really hard to learn the first 1/2 of his form (he did blue belt form). They were given the choice to do it with our without assistance from one of the judges, but he got up there and did it great with no help at all!!!

After the Tiny Tigers went, they called color belts by age group. We had to wait a couple of hours until they called the brown - red/black juniors up, but Ryan finally got his turn! The parents had to stay in the stands for all of the color belts, but we were still able to get pretty good seats once we saw which ring he was going to be in.

Once his group was finally seated at their ring, they went through forms, then weapons, then sparring. Unfortunately, they skipped over Ryan for the forms. We didn't realize it until some of the kids who had already done their forms started doing their weapons. They did call Ryan to do his weapon form, but we had not signed him up for that piece of the competition. He told them that he wasn't doing weapons, and that he hadn't done his form yet... Manuel and I were getting a little panicked and when we saw that they were getting ready to move on to sparring and Ryan still hadn't had a chance to do his form yet. Luckily we were able to find one of the instructors from his school who ran down there to check on everything for us. Apparently one of the judges had failed to write his name down on the forms page (found out later that she also forgot to add another kid to the sparring page after that kids dad went down to the ring). It was a little bit of a mess, but it all worked out. Ryan got to do his form and then his sparring. He was still able to walk away with competitor medals for both, so he was happy!

Baby Shower Pictures

I finally got copies of my baby shower pictures from Justin's camera this weekend! Thank you again to everyone. We have received so many great things and are ready for our new little bundle to make her way here! Special thanks to cousin Harper who has generously let us borrow all of her outgrown clothes! Our little girl is all set for her first 9 months! =0)

I was absolutely in love with the cake from my shower. It is one of the most beautiful cakes I have ever seen! I actually still have the topper setting on my dining table. I haven't been able to make myself throw it away yet!!! The same lady in Abilene who made Hayley and Blair's wedding cakes made the shower cake. Isn't she AWESOME?!!!

34 Weeks!!!

I love this picture of Hayley and Blair trying to hide behind my belly!

Thank you Shana for the hand-made diaper bag! So girly!!!

Our handmade quilt from Aunt Faye!

Thank you again to Hayley, Blair and Becky for throwing me such a beautiful shower!

Baby Shower

Thank you to Hayley, Blair and Becky who hosted my baby shower yesterday. We had a great turn out and everything was absolutely wonderful (especially the gorgeous cake)! Thank you to everyone who made the trek out to Weatherford and for all of the wonderful gifts! We are very blessed to have each and every one of you in out lives! We received so many great things and can't wait until our new baby girl is here to start using them all. Mom and I both forgot our camera's, but borrowed Justin's. I will post some pics as soon as I get a copy from him & Hayley.

TAKS Test

We just found out yesterday that Ryan passed his Reading TAKS Test!!!! He is so excited and we are so very proud of him! He has worked so hard this year trying to prepare for this test. I think the thing he is looking forward to the most is no more after school tutoring! =0)

Spring Break

Spring Break came and went very quickly for the boys. They stayed home with me on Monday and then headed to Granny and Papa's house until Thursday. They played at the park and rode their skateboards and scooters every day while they were there, and of course somehow managed to talk Granny into buying them both a new pair of shoes before they left!

On Friday, Manuel took the boys to see Bedtime Stories at the dollar show and to play Putt Putt while I was working. They all had a great time! Gabriel even made a hole in one!

Saturday the boys went bowling while I worked on the taxes, and then we watched movies the rest of the day. Today was spent cleaning up and getting ready to go back to school tomorrow... Man, how this week flew by!

NO MORE TRAINING WHEELS!!!!
We got Gabriel a new bike this week and in a matter of minutes, he was riding without his training wheels! He was so excited!!! It took him a little bit to get the hang of turning and getting off of the bike without falling down, but he did AWESOME and only busted a couple of times (good thing Daddy was there to catch him)!

31 Weeks

Yesterday we went for our 31 week checkup. The baby's heartbeat was 150 bpm, and she is measuring right at 32 weeks, so all is looking good! She is very active, especially at night still! I had only gained 1.5 lbs. during the past 2 weeks, so in that aspect, I am doing really well. My feet are starting to swell a little, so Dr. Robbins told me lay off of the sodium! We are still working on her room, and hope to have it done pretty soon. The walls are painted and the furniture is up. We just need to get stuff on her walls! Can't wait until she is here!!! =0)

Happy 4th Birthday Haley!

Leticia came down last weekend with the kids to celebrate Haley's 4th Birthday. As you can imagine, it was quite a weekend with all 5 kids running around screaming! We made a strawberry cake with cream cheese icing and lots of colored sprinkles on top Saturday morning and threw in a few Tinkerbell things too!
